6 Ways to Get Your Creative Juices Flowing

Every day is different—you can’t expect the same level of mental agility every single day.  Sometimes your brain is wide open, and ideas seem just to overflow. Other times, you feel stuck in a state of mind that gets you nowhere.

Whenever you’re struggling to sustain the intensity of your creativity, just remember to keep a positive mindset and heed these advices to allow your brain to adapt and get those creative ideas coming.

  1. Go for a Walk

There is nothing like a going out for a relaxing walk on a beautiful day. Bathing in natural light and listening to the sounds of the surroundings helps a lot in clearing your mind. Ditch the earphones and let the natural sounds in.

  1. Break Out of Your Routine

Sometimes, we find ourselves stuck when it’s time to broaden our horizon. Oftentimes, we feel so comfortable with the norm that we lose the creative spark we once had when we first experience something. Shake things a bit by doing something different, like finding new sites to explore, trying a new hobby or even as simple as checking out a new store to buy an outfit. Who knows, you might discover something more interest that will get you going in a new direction.

  1. Avoid Pressuring Yourself

Pressure can kill creativity. It’s even worse when you pressure yourself to do well. The process of making creative ideas is at its best when you’re having fun doing it. So instead of pushing yourself to make every work a masterpiece, relax and have fun, and just allow the creative process unfold. You’ll be surprised that the quality of work is much better when you’re enjoying the experience.

  1. Quit Being Logical

The part of the brain responsible for generating creative ideas is not the same as the part responsible for reasoning. Inspiration and creativity is not logical. Most people have easier time accessing the creative part of the brain when in a relaxed state, engaged in some mindless task or just casually sharing ideas with someone.

  1. Get Moving

You feel better physically and mentally after working out. This is because your body releases endorphins, making you feel better. When you feel positive inside out, this opens up your mind to receiving new inspiration, resulting in more creative ideas.

  1. Spare Some Time for Brain Games

Brain games stimulate intellectual action and force it to solve problems by looking at them in diverse angles. It encourages the mind to try different approaches, which will eventually serve as inspirations for more creative ideas in the future.

If you want our creative juices to flow freely, you will have to unclog some ‘pipes’ and create more for creativity to grow. These six things may not be ideal for some, but they’ll surely free up some space in your head for your creative side to start running again.

Things Women Often Talk About That Turn Men Off

Every woman wants to find Mr. Right. To find him, efforts are needed to be done like going out on dates, having actual real conversations and getting to know each other moments. With that, we also need to be careful with what we share and say because there are some guys, like the respectable and eligible bachelors in Singapore, who are actually listening and would know whether you are also the right girl for them. In order to save yourself from embarrassment and heartbreak of becoming a turnoff, you should note the following mood killers to avoid in conversations.

  1. Gossip

If you do not want to appear shallow and judgmental then you should avoid initiating or sharing gossip to your date or possible boyfie. It could really be a turnoff if he hears you enjoying spreading rumors about other people that you should not be meddling about.

  1. Material things

When talking with men, it is not really advisable to talk about all the material things you own. Some would take it against you and would think of you as materialistic or a showoff which could lose their interest in you. Men find it more attractive if you talk about things that both of you might have in common, may it be material or a hobby. Just don’t share too much on material things or shopping not unless he likes to talk about such topics.

  1. Insecurities

It is better that you do not second-guess yourself all the time. Most men like confident women. Show them that you do not need reassurance all the time and that you have a high self-esteem and that you love yourself enough. Insecure girls are always clingy and needy which are basically big turnoffs for guys.

  1. Biases

Sometimes we do not notice harsh comments and racist statements that we say and this could kill our chances to finding true love. Being disrespectful and racist to other races can make you offensive and mean. You wouldn’t want to be known as the girl who constantly makes racist remarks, right? As much as possible, think before you share your thoughts on sensitive topics like racism, etc.

  1. Negativity

Who would want to have a partner who constantly speaks negatively? You should avoid talking about problems or negative remarks all the time. You should raise the spirit and bring happiness to conversations and not the other way around.

  1. Critical comments

If a guy hears you making fun of other people, it could potentially end his feelings for you not unless he’s a jerk and enjoys hearing those things. But with decent and great guys, it is better that you refrain yourself from being such a bully and as much as possible show come compassion and kindness. Don’t make yourself look small by putting others down. Kindness is always sexier and attractive than being insensitive and mean.

Using coupons won’t make you look cheap, it’ll make you appear as a smart shopper. So be sure to check for discount coupons before making any purchases online.  Most online shops offer discounts as a part of their marketing strategy, and they often post these vouchers on their websites, blogs and social media accounts. Another trick to easily find online shop coupons is to install a plugin called Honey in your browser. This plugin automatically searches for vouchers for any product, and applies the biggest discount available during your checkout.

  1. Compare Product Prices

Aside from using coupons, learning how to compare product prices will also help you get the most out of your online shopping purchases. You can do this by simply listing down a good number of websites and the prices for a particular item, and contacting a specific seller to see if they’ll be able to match the lowest available price of the product. If that specific seller really wants your money, then there’s a good chance that they’ll give you a good discount on the product.onlineshopping5

  1. Opt for Refurbished Items

Unlike what most of us believe, refurbished products actually have better quality than non-refurbished items. The reason behind this is because refurbished items have undergone thorough inspections and quality assurance more than the non-refurbished ones before being placed in the market again. So the next time you purchase some gift items, particularly gadgets, be sure to take a look at the refurbished section first.

  1. Purchase From New and Smaller Shops

Although purchasing gift items from well-known online shops has its own advantages, do try looking out for smaller but trustworthy shops. Their listings will likely be cheaper and their customer service support will likely be more direct, personalized and responsive compared to those of bigger and more popular shops. You might even find some unique items that most popular online stores don’t have.

Making the most out of your online shopping experience is actually easy. All you’ve got to do is put the aforementioned tips to work, conduct multiple checks before checking out your cart, and avoid shying away from good discounts. With this, you’ll definitely turn from a rookie shopper to one smart online shopping expert.

Repairing Your Air Conditioning Unit

Having an air conditioning unit in Singapore is not just a luxury, but also a necessity. And knowing where to go to for aircon repair is important in a country that can reach a maximum temperature of 93° Fahrenheit. During hot seasons, when air conditioning systems are working at its peak, you have to be aware of the problems that may arise. The good thing is, you can manually solve some of this problem before calling your aircon servicing company. Here are the 3 of the most common problems of air conditioning systems.

Problem: Aircon unit leaking
If the unit is leaking, the possible problems might be the coil or the draining pipes must be clogged with dirt. If the problem is the pipe, check if something clogs the waterways. If there is, get a vacuum cleaner and suck the drain line until the whole waterways are clean from clogging dirt. There are also instances, especially when your unit have not undergone proper aircon maintenance, when the whole drain pan is really dusty which results to water leaking. If that’s the case, you have to remove the covers of the unit and vacuum the dirt out of the drain pan. Another reason for this problem is the coil is not cleaned during regular aircon maintenance. If you noticed that the unit does not give off the same cooling effect anymore with the water leaking from it, the problem must be a filthy coil. In this case, the coil usually needs to be replaced.

Problem: Aircon unit not giving off cold air
There are several reasons why your aircon unit isn’t giving off cold air, and some of it may be solved without professional aircon repair. Some of these are dirty filters, air condition unit is not in cooling mode, some parts are faulty, or fan motor can be clogged with dirt. If you have dusty filters or fan motor, try rinsing them off with clean water. Dusty aircon parts prevent the cool air from being released. And worst, you might be overworking your air conditioning system and therefore shortening its lifespan, thereby having to call aircon servicing regularly and increasing your cost of maintenance. Make the rinsing a monthly habit to maintain the coldness of the aircon. If you have tried disassembling and reassembling the unit and noticed that the air is not the same as it used to be, you must have wrongly positioned some parts of the unit.

Problem: Aircon producing foul odors
If your aircon is producing foul odors, chances are there must be clogging and leaking inside the system or a dead animal in the duct. Now, this can only be fixed through professional aircon repair services. In most cases, foul smell emitting units have filthy and clogged parts in it. Usually the filters and coils are the most dust-prone parts of the unit and therefore the priorities during aircon maintenance. You just have to remove, clean and reinstall these parts for a better performing air conditioning system again. In many cases in Singapore, they have to be replaced altogether especially when the unit has been running for years.

If the problem is caused by dead animal body, then the only way to remedy the foul scent is to locate and remove the dead animal. Spray a generous amount of air freshener right in front of the aircon vents to eliminate the odor. If you are unable to locate and identify the foul odor from your unit, do not hesitate to seek help from an air conditioner service company.

Hike in Property Prices

There is huge difference in different home property prices. The prices of luxury houses in Singapore have been rising rapidly. Last year, Singapore had reached on third position in luxury homes pricing across the world. In 2009 the hike had reached almost 17 percent. During the same year Singapore was almost on fifth position across the world. According to the Wealth Report 2011 published by Knight Frank, Singapore prime property prices rose up by 18 percent in 2010. Same report explains how the food price inflation happened in the year 2010. It reached almost 25 percent. The report of Urban Redevelopment Authority Singapore states that in year 2010 private houses as well as luxury homes prices rose almost 17.6 percent. The rental prices for the housing properties also increased in the same duration by approximately 18%.

Housing and Development Board (HDB) takes the responsibility of public housing in Singapore. This department works developing cost effective quality homes for all the citizens as well as redeveloping the present townships. It also works for slums resettling. It tries to provide low cost flats for the people staying in slums. Another important objective of HDB is to help the government in restricting the rising property prices by providing the required number of housing units. Urban redevelopment authority (URA) on the other hand plans the usage of the total available land. Singapore has only approximately 700 square Kilometers of land including the water bodies. This puts severe restrictions on the land usage. URA plans the land usage such that the available land is used in the most optimum manner.
